I have had very low self confidence ever since I was younger because I was always at least slightly bigger than the other girls in my grade and I have never been the smartest kid. It was one of the first days in my new school and I still didn’t know anyone. It was math class and we were all going over math problems. She did a couple of problem to show us how to do what we were working on. Right now I can’t remember what we were working on. After about the 5 or 6th problem she had gone over she gave us dry erase boards to write on. She told us the first problem and told us to write our answers on the board once everyone had something written down she told us to hold up our boards one at a time so she could she our answers. Row by row everybody had the same answer and I looked down and saw that I had a different answer so I started to freak out because I thought people would laugh at me. By the time that they got to me I was crying. When they asked what was wrong I couldn’t even talk thats how bad I was crying. The teacher came up to me to see what was wrong and she looked at my answer and saw that it was different than other people. She looked at me and smiled and said “You are the only one in this entire class that got the answer right.” After hearing that my tears slowly dried up and I started to smile. Once math was over it was time for lunch and everyone in the lunchroom was telling me how awesome it was that I was the only one to get it right.
