Maybe I should write this in the Forum, ‘What I Remember About My Mother, but I am writing it here. My mother was very much different (in some ways) from the ‘average’ mother while I was growing up.There are so many wonderful memories I have of her. She had a good heart. That was the most outstanding thing I remember about her. BUT LET ME TELL YOU (smile), my mother alternately smoked a pipe and a cigar; she wore unlaced combat boots at one time; she kept coins—a bunch of them—in her shoes while she was wearing them. Mind you, this was a woman born and raised in a big, big city. These are some of the memories I remember when I think of how different (in some ways) my mother was from the average mother during the time I was growing up—and probably would seem different today from the average mother (smile). I love you, mama.
